Cheri White

Picture
Administrator, NH Dept of Ed, Nutrition Programs and Services

Cheri is very interested in the farm to school program and has actively spent some time working with a few local farmers to get local foods into the Kearsarge schools. Every other week, buffalo burgers are available as an a la carte item at the high school. The 3 ounce burgers are from the Yankee Farmers Market in Warner, a farm that raises buffalo (bison). The burgers were made especially for Cheri but will soon be available to any school. The cost is about .93 per burger. For more information, contact Keira at kefarmer@tds.net.

Cheri has also connected with Larry Pletcher, owner of the Vegetable Ranch in Warner, who is planning to supply the school with organic lettuce, potatoes and onions in the fall. Larry is also helping Sutton Central School put in a vegetable garden and has donated some pepper and tomato plants as well. Cheri has since become the Administrator for Nutrition Programs and Services with the NH Department of Education.
